3.2 Bake out launching

The standard procedure for starting the baking is as follows:

  1. Set mass to 1 then switch off the magnetic field chassis.

  2. Verify that all sources are turned off, remove the samples from the instrument.

  3. Switch off the electronics with the key at the vacuum bay by turning it to OFF

  4. Verify that the baking circuit breakers at both RACs are ON.

  5. Open the manual valve VM1.

  6. Launch the baking in the vacuum synoptic in the “Baking” part (red bow in the figure below). Set 48 hours during the weekend for the first baking.

  1. Start a recorder in the vacuum synoptic to monitor the pressure variations during the baking (set intervals of 30 seconds minimum for a long baking).

Note that the pressure increases at first, then it decreases, and the vacuum improves.
